| What do ACT Software and Prophet CRM have in common? |
| In general, ACT Software and Prophet CRM are quite similar - ACT and Prophet are both contact management and sales management software programs (also known as contact managers or customer relationship management (CRM) programs). |

- Both ACT Software and Prophet CRM help sales organizations and individuals collect information and activities related to a particular contact or opportunity in a single file for easy access and at-a-glance review.
- ACT Software and Prophet CRM also work with productivity tools, such as calendars, task managers, email and notes, though ACT provides these tools in a very different way than Prophet does. (We'll talk more about that below.) These functions are linked to the opportunity files so you can see such things as appointments, emails and tasks related to your opportunity, helping you build a complete history and record of projected activity.

| The key difference between ACT and Prophet is found in how they do what they do. ACT comes with its own set of productivity tools: ACT contact manager, ACT calendar, ACT "to-dos", ACT email client, etc. Prophet works within Microsoft Outlook®, the best-in-class office productivity. This means Prophet uses your Outlook® contacts, email, task manager, calendar and notes. With Prophet, you don't need to learn a new interface; you don't need to create duplicate records; and you don't need to synch up to Outlook® to coordinate calendars or update contact files as you do with ACT. | How does ACT Software create, track and manage sales opportunities? |
| You create opportunities for ACT! within the ACT! application. This means, you have to learn a whole new software application. Act also only allows you to create one opportunity per Contact whereas Prophet allows you to create multiple opportunities per a contact or company. |

| You can create, send and track emails within your ACT contact files, if you use the ACT email client. If you want to use Outlook® email, you need to switch from ACT to Outlook or synchronize the two applications. |
