Growing Your Business with a Goldmine Database

 

Keeping In Touch With Your Clients
Using a Goldmine database is like having a small personal secretary for each of your client records.  A Goldmine database has the ability to process and use a multitude of different types of information and can create valuable reports that you can use later to increase your visibility with your clients and your sales. 

Understanding how valuable a Goldmine database can be to your business first requires an understanding of just how wide the variety is of the different types of information that the Goldmine database is designed to catalog and use.  Remember that the possibilities are endless when it comes to a Goldmine database and if you take the time to really get to know the functionality of the Goldmine database and everything that the Goldmine database has to offer.

It Starts Out With the Basics
The Goldmine database is like any other contact software in that it allows you to capture all of the basic information for your clients and all of the company contact information as well.  Where the Goldmine database really excels in the ability for the Goldmine database to add secondary contacts to a record and the ability to not only get in depth information for those secondary contacts but also ties those secondary contacts to the primary account so that any activity you do with a secondary contact is easy to identify. 

In many other pieces of contact software a secondary contact is not given the versatility to add much more than a phone number or email address but with the Goldmine database you are given the option of adding personal information, separate addresses, and even contact notes completely separate from the main account but yet tied to the main account to allow for easy access through a search.  You can truly keep in touch with every important contact person at any of you client locations with the Goldmine database.

The Goldmine View
Another unique feature of the Goldmine database is something called the GM+View feature.  With GM+View you can keep HTML text based documents on file for all your contact with your clients.  Where it takes you one step further than other database programs is the ability to add sound or video files that pertain to your client as well.  With the Goldmine database GM+View feature you can make sure that anyone else that sees your notes, or looks up you client’s information, will have every piece of information they could possibly need to become familiar with that client.

A Quick View with the Goldmine Database
The Goldmine database offers many features that can give you a thumbnail look at what a company is doing and what you are involved with in the process of talking with your client.  The Summary tab of the Goldmine database will give you a quick look at when the entry was created, who created it, and where the lead came from.  This information can be invaluable when it comes to dealing with long time clients and clients that have come as referrals from other clients. 

There is also a Referrals tab in the Goldmine database that you can use to keep track of the referrals your clients give you.  When you get that big deal because of a referral from ABC Co then you will know it and you can thank ABC Co for their help in growing your business.  It is once again an invaluable tool in understanding where you business comes from and how to make sure you are always in touch with the clients that bring you the most business.

To Sum It All Up
The Goldmine database program also helps you by keeping track of all new contact information pertaining to your clients in a field call Details.  In the Details field you will have listed things like important contact names, email addresses, website addresses, and other important contact information that can be essential when you are talking with a client on the phone and need a quick reference during the conversation. 

The History tab in the Goldmine database gives you a view of every contact made with a particular client so that you can review the contact history with a client before making the phone call.  The Goldmine database also ties everything in to the History tab by allowing you to schedule meetings, schedule phone calls, and send emails in response to various contacts that have previously been made.  The Goldmine database allows you do to all of this with the touch of one tab and the Goldmine database does a great job of not only keeping track of all of your client information but the Goldmine database also makes everything very accessible for you and anyone else that you allow to use your database to help grow your company.
