Reason 1: MS XML Parser 6.0 Service Pack 2 is installed on the machine
In Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Vista) – look for MS XML Parser 6.0 Service Pack 2. If it is there, then the MS SQL package will fail to install. It must be removed, however it will error out if you attempt to remove it from here. Instead, use the following tool to remove “MS XML Parser 6.0 service pack 2”: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
Reason 2: There are remnants of a previous or Corrupt SQL installation already on the machine.
Uninstall any unused or unwanted SQL installations through add or remove programs. You may also uninstall any unwanted SQl components, such as the SQL Native client, VSS writer, etc.
here are none – go to C:\program files\ and delete any folder named “Microsoft SQL Server”.
Reason 3: WMI is corrupt on the machine.
Windows Management Instrumentation components are corrupt in the operating system. It is critical that this component be in working order for SQL to install properly. The following KB article will allow you to properly repair WMI. However, the success rates of repairing WMI are low. The official recommendation from Microsoft is to re-install your operating system. It is highly recommend that an experienced IT expert guide you through the following articles to see if they are viable solutions.

| Problems connecting a Prophet client to a Prophet server (Prophet LAN versions) |
|
|
Windows Firewall is the number one culprit for this, please make sure it is turned off. You may add an exception to the firewall using a Port number.
To obtain this port number, open the registry on the Prophet Server. Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\PROPHETSQL\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Tcp.
Obtain the TCP Port # listed on the right pane.
Add that as a port exception in the windows firewall.

| Contacts not visible in Contact Manager |
|
|
Reason 1: Prophet needs to be resynced. To go Contact Manager > Drop Down arrow next to tools > Resync data > resync contact company data.
Reason 2: The “Filter” is set to a criteria which returns no data. Click on the “Filter” button in Contact manager. Make sure no categories are selected, and that you are viewing the appropriate contact folder in Outlook, or by the appropriate rep (enterprise version).
Reason 3: There may be a SQL issue and/or database issue. Close outlook > go to C:\program files\Avidian Technologies\Prophet > double click on AVTSQLinstaller.exe and let it run until it disappears from the screen > Then Restart Outlook.
If none of these solutions work, please contact our technical support at 1-800-898-8615. You may also visit our knowledge base articles or submit a ticket directly at http://www.avidian.com/support.aspx.
