is offered through Front Range Solutions. While these two programs,

Prophet
is user friendly, while Goldmine is much more complicated.

the program must be matched and synched with the information from
Outlook. Once this occurs, then information can be integrated into
outlook from Goldmine. This can be annoying and frustrating for
employees, which is why many companies and organizations have switched
from Goldmine to Prophet software. Prophet works differently than
Goldmine as it builds on top of the information already in Outlook.
New
clients, business contacts, and sales opportunities are easier to
add with Prophet rather than Goldmine.
One of the major advantages Prophet has over Goldmine is that Prophet
software offers a toolbar in Outlook. This toolbar not only makes
it easier to manage the information, but it also allows new clients,
business contacts, and sales opportunities to be added easily and
quickly. Goldmine does not offer a Goldmine toolbar in Outlook.
For users of Goldmine software, new clients, business contacts and
sales opportunities are added by going into the ACT ual Goldmine
software program. Using Goldmine not only makes employees less efficient
as they must exit the email program and open up Goldmine to enter
the information, it also is annoying and frustrating to them.
Managing
information is easier with Prophet compared to Goldmine.
Users that switch from Goldmine to Prophet also acknowledge that
managing information is easier with Prophet than it is with Goldmine.
Prophet allows users to manage and change information while in the
Outlook program using the Prophet toolbar. Users who are managing
information using Goldmine must enter the Goldmine software program
to change or manage information. They then must synchronize the
information between Goldmine and Outlook. How easy information is
to manage and change is an important thing for executives and managers
to consider when deciding which brand of software, either Prophet
or Goldmine, to buy. Information and data is constantly changing
in our world, and companies and organizations need a software program
that is flexible and can easily adapt to these changes. Prophet
does this, while Goldmine does not.
Prophet
makes sharing information with other employees easier than Goldmine.
The easiness of exchanging information is also of concern to companies
and organizations. They want software programs that allow for information
to be easily accessed by all employees, as no individual works in
isolation anymore. Prophet makes sharing and accessing information
much easier than Goldmine. Unlike Goldmine, Prophet offers peer
sharing that allows files, data, and information to be accessed
and shared with individuals on the same network. Goldmine does not
offer this, which means that information must be printed off or
put into another software program to be shared with other employees,
even those working on the same project or with the same information.
Prophet
makes sharing information with those outside the company or organization
easier than Goldmine.
Often times, companies need to share information with others outside
their organization. Prophet makes doing this much easier than Goldmine.
Prophet allows for information and reports to be saved, printed,
and accessed in a variety of other programs and file formats, including
HTML, PDF, Word and Excel. When employees need to share information
with others outside their organization who do not have Prophet,
they can simply use a different file format to make the information
compatible with the user’s computer programs. Goldmine requires
that this information be printed off or input into another program.
If you are an executive or manager who is
looking to purchase new software that can help your company or organization
manage their clients and contacts, you should consider purchasing
management software such as Prophet or Goldmine. However, keep in
mind that while Prophet and Goldmine do the same thing, they have
very different features. Prophet is not only easier to use than
Goldmine, but Prophet is also more compatible than Goldmine with
other types of software.
