Strong name validation failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8013141A)

You may run across this error while attempting either run Register.bat or Register64.bat
This error will appear in the Command Prompt itself and now allow one of the files to register successfully.

Resolution:

A: Download and apply the attached registry file. Then run the Register.bat or Register64.bat file again.
8013141A Strong Name Validation.zip
(351 Bytes) Downloaded 39 times
8013141A Strong Name Validation.zip
(351 Bytes) Downloaded 39 times
or

B: You can create a "StrongNameValidation.reg" file with something like below:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\StrongName\Verification\*,b03f5f7f11d50a3a]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\StrongName\Verification\*,b03f5f7f11d50a3a]
It should be pointed out that disabling SN verification isnt very secure but you may have your own reasons.

Note: 'b03f5f7f11d50a3a' is the PublicKeyToken for the avidian .dll file that typically does not register properly. You may need to change this string to the PublicKeyToken that appears in the Command Prompt at the time of the original Strong Name Validation error.

If you dont have the SDK installed for SN then get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8279
